St. Matthew Preschool

Come Grow With Us

St. Matthew Preschool will be accepting applications for our 3 and 4 year old classes for the 2010-2011 school year. Your child is eligible for these programs if he or she turns 3 or 4 prior to January 1, 2011. Registration for Parish Members begins on Monday, December 7 and on Monday, January 4 for non-Parish members. The Registration Form can be downloaded using the link on the right.

The program for the three year olds will run from 8:45am–11:45am on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Tuition will be $1225 per year and a $75 registration fee is required.

The program for the four year olds will run from 8:45am–11:45am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.  Tuition will be $1700 per year and a $75 registration is required for new families only.

We are an accredited Music Together Preschool so our children will have a 30 minute structured music class once a week by a certified Music Together teacher.  Jane Roets is our current Music Together instructor. During this time the children will sing songs, dance and play musical instruments.  The children will receive two music cd’s and a songbook containing all of the songs (with words and music) they will be singing in class.  You can find out more about the popular Music Together program at their website www.musictogether.com.

Our head teacher and director, AnnMarie Galdau, holds a BA in Education and English Literature and has many years of experience in teaching preschool.

St. Matthew Preschool follows the Connecticut State Preschool Curriculum Framework.

As Catholic early childhood educators, we minister to the whole child– mind, heart and hands.  In our nurturing Catholic environment, we encourage each child in his or her spiritual, emotional, social, physical and intellectual growth.  Awakening the child’s desire to learn, we foster creativity and excitement about learning by facilitating a stimulating environment.  We understand each child’s uniqueness in personality and learning styles.  We create for the early learner opportunities to discover, explore, question and succeed.  Our setting nurtures the child’s spiritual relationship with God and caring attitude for others. (Dept. of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment, Archdiocese of Hartford)

If you have any questions about the program or if you would like to schedule a time to visit the preschool, you can contact AnnMarie Galdau by email at Preschool or by calling (860) 872-0200 ext. 357.
