Once again the Haitian Ministry is sponsoring our annual toy collection for the children of St. Pierre Parish, Gantier, Haiti.  This year it will be the weekend of Sept. 30-Oct. 1.  Kids of all ages are invited to bring new, unwrapped toys up to the altar during the masses at both St. Matthew and St. Bernard churches that weekend.  These toys will be shipped to St. Pierre and distributed to their school children, who would otherwise receive no gifts.

Toys should be small enough to fit into the shipping barrels and should not require batteries (they cannot be replaced) or written instruction (they do not read English). This also means no English books.  Suggested toys include black dolls, toy cars and trucks, bubbles, jump ropes, balls, stuffed animals, art supplies, blocks and building toys, Frisbees, jewelry, hair clips and bows, etc.

We will also be accepting cash donations.  Checks should be made out to St. Matthew Church with "Haiti Mission" written on the memo line.  Envelopes will be available that weekend for any cash or checks and there will be a box under the tree in which to deposit them.
